Lemons are mostly harvested in southern Sicily, from mid-November until May. This citrus fruit has numerous health properties, and is rich in citric acid, potassium and sodium.
Flavor: typically tart.
Pairings and tips: it combines perfectly with fresh, creamy cheeses, gorgonzola and Swiss chard tortelli. It's also great as a filling for tarts and other desserts.
