Strained tomatoes are simply regular tomatoes that have been strained to remove the excess water so that the tomato pulp is “dryer.” Straining the tomatoes is generally used in recipes where you don't want them runny.

I find it to have a fresher tomato flavor and brightened the over all taste of my recipe. I would order it again.
