This coca cake with Apricot is made with wholemeal spelt flour and brown sugar Soft and Genuine. This delicious baked dessert is the perfect accompaniment to your afternoon coffee or tea.
Ingredients: brown sugar (29%), wholemeal spelt flour (14%), eggs, wheat flour, sunflower oil, apricots in pieces (5%), cocoa powder (min. 4%), skimmed milk powder, milk proteins, raising agent (disodium diphosphate, sodium hydrogen carbonate, wheat flour), emulsifier: mono and diglycerides of fatty acids, salt, sunflower lecithin, flavors. Preservatives: sorbic acid and citric acid.

Soft, fluffy and moist chocolate cake! The flavors of apricot and dark chocolate were blended perfectly - nothing overpowering. It tasted homemade. The spelt does give it a slightly coarser texture from traditional white flour, but it does not detract and I am thrilled to find a good dessert cake made with whole grain spelt that I can purchase and serve with confidence. Serves 6 people for tea or dessert.

YUMMY-NICE TO HAVE ON HAND
The cake had quality ingredients but mine may have been old or suffered a bit from high temperatures on the delivery truck (<100). It was unevenly moist and dry. It crumbled when cut. It crumbled so badly that I could not serve to company. But it was clear, if not for the transport, this would be a lovely tea cake. It would serve 6. The cocoa is intense. The apricots are wonderful. It is not too sweet. Great cake overall.
Great with ice cream.
