  • Vegetable base
  • Celery

  • Carrots
  • Parsley
  • Water
  • Basil

  • Crushed red pepper
  • Sugar
  • Black pepper

So, how do you cook it?

After gathering the best Italian tomatoes and other ingredients mentioned above, time to indulge in the kitchen. Prepare a huge pot to make sure all the ingredients fit in the pot with enough space to mix them and cook them thoroughly. The first step is to add some garlic, onions, celery, and carrots in the pan with some extra virgin olive oil in medium heat. Saute the ingredients until they’re soft (that’s around six to eight minutes).

After that, add some vegetable base in the mixture. Also add water, spices, and tomatoes while reducing the heat of the stove. Make the sauce simmer for around two to three hours or when all the ingredients are cooked thoroughly, and it’s richer in flavor and color. When done, you can also put the sauce in a blender to make the sauce smoother in texture. 

This sauce can be consumed by the family in a week when stored in the refrigerator and up to 6 months when stored in the freezer.

Paired with Pasta

Your sauce wouldn’t be perfect if it wasn't paired with pasta. No matter how great your San Marzano canned tomatoes or Italian plum tomatoes kinds of sauce are, it would still be lacking without some cooked pasta noodles or fresh pasta below it.
